Welcome back to the show, everyone! Today we are looking ahead to Texas for Repticon Houston. The show takes place at Campbell Hall, located inside the Pasadena Convention Center and Fairgrounds at 7601 Red Bluff Road in Pasadena, Texas.

Mark your calendars for October third and fourth, twenty twenty six. On Saturday, October third, the show is open from nine in the morning to four in the afternoon. On Sunday, October fourth, show hours run from ten in the morning to four in the afternoon.

Breeder Spotlight: Sargent Geckos and Shawn Barnett Reptiles

You know, speaking of the show floor, one Texas breeder I am really excited to see at Repticon Houston is Sargent Geckos. They are a family run operation based right here in Texas, and their whole backstory is just awesome.

Oh yeah? What is their story?
Michael Arnold
So, they started with a beloved family dog named Sarge. When they got into geckos, their very first foundation animals were a female named Echo and a male named Viserion, whose eyes actually mirrored Sarge's. Their whole logo is designed around Echo and Viserion!

That is a wonderful origin, but what are they focusing on in terms of genetics?
Michael Arnold
They specialize in Crested Geckos and Sarasinorum Geckos with deeply planned lineage tracking. They run specific projects like Galaxy crossed with Cherry, and Zeus crossed with Jelly Bean. It is very deliberate, genetics driven breeding aimed at elevating structural quality and vibrant color traits over multiple generations.

That level of lineage discipline is key. And on the python side of the house, Shawn Barnett Reptiles out of Fort Worth is bringing some incredible heat to Houston as well.

Oh, Shawn Barnett is top tier! His work with Ball Pythons and Reticulated Pythons is unbelievable.

It really is. He is producing dynamic morph combinations like the Axanthic Clown Ball Python and the Acid Pinstripe Yellow Belly. But what sets his operation apart from a facility standpoint is the strict health and genetic guarantees. Verified sex, exact genetic lineage, and full health assurances on every animal.

And that is really the magic of being on the show floor in person, isn't it? You get to stand right in front of breeders like Sargent Geckos or Shawn Barnett, look at the animals, ask about their husbandry, and build a real relationship.

100 percent. You can inspect body condition, check clarity of the eyes and skin, and get long term care guidance directly from the person who hatched the animal. You just cannot replicate that online.
